How accountable you are



Being responsible for personal accountability in any situation is a skill that you can develop time to time. It comes with some certain behaviors to control actions and choices you make. When we think of accountability in terms of listening and love instead of accusation and punishment, everything changes. Learn to be accountable for what you do and why you do.


Understand the situation you are in

When you know the true fact of the situation you literally do not offend anything. You admit any occurrences and take things positively. Being accountable for the things at the right moment let you control the situation you are in. You know when to react and don't make situation worse. Your accountability become stronger when you learn to take responsibility.



Be honest

First you need to be honest to yourself. Honesty is the best policy and if you are not honest, it will be hard for you to expect honesty from others. You can be fully accountable for the things you do if you only be honest to yourself. And honest people are always accountable for their actions they do. If you are not honest, everything will become and blur and your accountability will remain bellow zero level.



Make a positive choice

Most of the time accountable people make a positive choice and they control their fate by doing positive things. They do not let enter any negative thoughts in their mind and learn from the past very efficiently. Most importantly, once they make decision, they do not look back and focus on work. They don't demand perfection, but make all things right.


Set high expectations

They like to set high realistic expectations and goals accordingly. They know how to reach their goals and learn the process and make everything right. If they figure something out wrong, they solve the puzzle and move on. They manage their expectations, think carefully, and realistically about a project and give an answer they can rely on. They don't put them in danger just by setting unrealistic goals.


Do not make any excuses

Highly accountable people just do not throw others under the bus for their own missteps and inactions. They do not make any excuses and when something goes wrong, they know blaming is just waste of time and energy. Accountable people has high performance of their actions and don't excuse themselves based on outside influences.



Discipline

Discipline is everything and they are always on time. They do things timely and accordingly. Study your past and figure out how disciplined you were and how it benefited you. Being disciplined is the top priority of highly accountable people.


Not to expect praise

It feels better when someone praise us for the things done accurately. It also boosts our inner will of doing more good things. However, highly accountable people do not expect a praise against their actions. Any additional praise is just an added bonus to a job well done.


Listen more, talk less, and do right things

Highly accountable people prior others opinion based on the situation and listen them carefully. They only speak when they need to and own their feelings. They stay in control of their feelings and do not let their emotion ruin the moment and do right things.
