How to stop procrastinating



You know that you have to do it but you are not doing it and taking more time. The day goes, time passes by, and you still think you have to do it but again you are not doing it because you think you have more time and will do later. That's how you spend your time on the couch and delaying must do things to the later and eventually all things pile up for later job and you end up not doing anything. That's how you start procrastinating and make yourself very comfortable with not doing anything but spending time on useless things that literally brings noting in your life.

Today in this article we are going to give you some tips, how to stop procrastinating and believe it must help you only when you do take a proper action accordingly.


Figure out what you love to do most of the time

You read this right. Yes you must figure out what you love to do or do mostly all of the time on daily basis. If you are not aware of this or never thought about this and living your life just whatever it is, then, now is the right time to think about this. See the below lists and figure out that if you are spending most of your time on less priority tasks.

  • Turn on the TV and watch them all whenever you get time

  • Spending time on SNS and scroll all SNS platforms if there's anything funny

  • Play games and forget even meals to eat

  • Hang out with friends too long even its not necessary

  • You love to sleep more than 8 hours a day

  • You never prioritize tasks

  • You look for pleasure no matter what and love to please other people



Make a plan on your activities

It is very important and you must plan on the things you do. Do you spend your time mostly on your couch watching TV or playing video games? Or the all things listed above? Of course you need to watch TV, play games, meet friends and give sometime to SNS to connect with people. But doing them as a part of your life which brings nothing but worry and poise your life with negativity is definitely wrong. You procrastinate important tasks because of prioritizing less important tasks and eventually regret for those things saying 'I shouldn't do that' type words.

So practice making a plan doing daily activities and keep sufficient hours for self improvements which will bring wealth and joy, and also self respect. Invest at least 2 hours a day on self improvement which will lead you towards success and build a new habit to make yourself a better person.



Do these things to never procrastinate

Procrastination is a habit and it is a bad habit indeed. And also it is recoverable anytime depending on the person whenever he wants by forming a new action habit. Habits only stop being habits when you avoid practicing them, so try as many of the strategies, below, as possible to give yourself the best possible chance of succeeding.


  • Act as you go: Tackle tasks as soon as they arise. Do not keep it for the next and build up a right now habit. Once you leave it for the next mean you are procrastinating and you do not want to do it now.

  • Minimize tasks: Minimize your less important tasks and fill them with most important tasks that will bring you wealth and happiness in your life. Axe those tasks which ruins your day and fill with tasks that brings joy, wealth, and prosper.

  • Promise yourself a reward: Before starting every important tasks pre reward yourself and fix a reward upon accomplishment.

  • Maintain a to do list: Very important and you must maintain a to-do list on daily basis to track your important tasks and eliminate your all less important or worthless tasks if possible.

  • Aim for done over perfect: If you are a perfectionist you have to know that you also procrastinate. Be better with done than seeking perfection.

  • Do a self talk: It is a good habit indeed but people call this madness. However, a self talk can boost your mind level and change your outlook.

  • Consider the big picture: Before starting any tasks consider the big picture first and once you master this you will never do procrastinate.



Explained list above are the most common steps to stop procrastination and live an action oriented life. Most importantly, know thyself, and work with your tendency to procrastinate as it is, not as you wish it to be.
