Know when to quit

Quitting and taking a break for a while is a completely different thing. A lot of people assume that they are quitting while they are taking a break. They make it too long to hold, so that they never feel like doing the task again. They become extremely lazy to start over again. Eventually they quit on their projects with or without knowing the true reason. Quitting comes basically with 3 things in our life; Bad habits, Jobs, and dreams.

Bad habits are something that ruins our lives and makes us a person of failure. Bad habits do not help us to grow and even become destructive physically and mentally. It doesn’t have any positive impact in life but raises the pain and destroys inner peace. You must quit any bad habits when;

  • It creates a tremendous amount of mental pressure after the event

  • Your health becomes weak

  • Your financial situation becomes very vulnerable

  • You lose family peace

  • It does not help you to enjoy long term

  • It has a huge negative impact around people

We all need a job to make our life better. To most of us, a job is everything, it feeds us, gives us shelter, and helps us to buy treatment, travel, and everything we need to live. However, when a job becomes a destruction of everything, gives you too much pressure to quit on family events, makes you spend 90% of your time regardless of whether you like it or not, you must rethink and consider leaving your job.

When to quit your job

There are signs to quit your job. You may find a better job or you may not feel like working in the current company anymore. It may vary by the person, however, the following signs are very common;

  • You are not enjoying what you are doing

  • You lost interest in results

  • You don’t find motivation in your current job

  • You hate Mondays

  • You do not feel the company is treating you well

  • You are not getting equally on your efforts

  • You are entrusted jobs that are against your skills

  • You know there aren’t any supportive systems but you need to get the job done anyhow

When to quit anything

Besides jobs, we all face a lot of things like people, places, personal issues, dreams, and goals. There are certain sure signs that quitting is better for you in the long run. Your consistency literally brings more frustrations than the rewards you are expecting. You do not feel like doing what you are doing and at the same time you are afraid to make a change that you might lose important things if you quit.

Our dreams keep us alive. If your dream dies, you die right away. You become a living death person without a dream. However, it does not mean that you cannot change your dream or goal. That also doesn’t mean that you must hold onto a single dream till death and make it happen no matter what. There are always chances and options to redirect your goal and make the ending perfect. If you find that the dream you have is very unrealistic, it is always better to quit it and start over on something that has tremendous possibilities.

Give yourself permission

The only person responsible for your life is yourself. So don’t wait for someone else to hand you the keys or show a new path or door. You must permit yourself to choose the best options with the insight you have. If you continuously ask for permission from others, do not know what to do, suffer to pick the right decision, perhaps, you are vulnerable to making decisions. Sometimes, you get lucky with people's advice, however, most of the time it is you who get the direct result and enjoy or suffer.

Choose yourself

It’s okay to put your hands up and say, “I don’t want to do this anymore, it makes me tired all the time.” or “I understand that I made a big mistake and it will be huge if I continue.” You must need to be comfortable letting go and quitting on things that do not bring positive results in your life. It could be a job, people, or things and places.

Most of the time it is healthier to start on new things, push yourself into slightly uncomfortable positions, leaving people and places behind for new opportunities and the life you are comfortable with. Accepting temporary uncomfortableness for a permanent comfort in life is okay and you must allow yourself to accept it.
