Narrow your focus for big results

Having dreams are great. Sometimes most of us get distracted by the tasks to be done to achieve the goal. In fact, we focus on many other things that even don't relate to our dreams. We assume, many unnecessary process that may require and forget to focus on the main things. Perhaps, for big results a narrow effective focus can be more than enough. It may apply in your professional and personal life and for that you need to know the importance of the task and process. We often told that we need to tune out distractions and focus on whats important. But it is indeed hard to find the important thing and we are almost distracted by other things which are less important. We get distracted by the fear, the people might think bad about us, and the image we have. Eventually we forget to focus on the important thing and concentrate on the noises in our mind.

The number one reason people give up so fast is because they tend to look at how far they still have to go instead of how far they have come. But it is a series of small wins that can give us the most significant success. Suppose you want to finish this year with a big savings. Let's say, you want to end this year with 20k USD in your savings account. If you only focus on that big amount of money only and do not cut expenses or increase income, I bet you will be broke till the end day of the year. You must need to break down the amount, and it will be 1.67K per month, which is 417 USD per week and 60USD per day. Now you need to focus on your expenditure habit. How much money are you spending per month. Of course you will have a fixed expenditure including house rent, car insurance, foods and beverages, health etc. You cannot control them because they are fixed, but you can control your unplanned expenses, emotional expenses. If you are struggling to fulfill your daily needs, you must break the circle, think out of the box and add a new income stream to reach the savings goal. You must need to cut off unnecessary meetings, partying every weekend, spending too much time on TV shows and playing video games. Learn to value your time. You can value your time with two things; you educate yourself or earn more money.

Apply the 80/20 rule in everything you do. Make sure, your 20 percent effort brings the 80 percent of the result. If you do not know how to do this I would recommend this book to purchase and start reading immediately. This book will teach you how to focus on the important things and bring most of the results you are expecting.

The 80/20 principle is one of the great secrets of highly effective people and organizations.

Did you know, for example, that 20 percent of customers account for 80 percent of revenues? That 20 percent of our time accounts for 80 percent of the work we accomplish? The 80/20 Principle shows how we can achieve much more with much less effort, time, and resources, simply by identifying and focusing our efforts on the 20 percent that really counts. Although the 80/20 principle has long influenced today's business world, author Richard Koch reveals how the principle works and shows how we can use it in a systematic and practical way to vastly increase our effectiveness, and improve our careers and our companies.

The unspoken corollary to the 80/20 principle is that little of what we spend our time on actually counts. But by concentrating on those things that do, we can unlock the enormous potential of the magic 20 percent, and transform our effectiveness in our jobs, our careers, our businesses, and our lives.
