If you are living an average life then you are a time waster for sure. You might be thinking that you are spending a productive day but you really aren't. You become busy and not productive. You literally waste your time and your habits are the reason for this mainly. We all have some bad habits that don't serve us. The problem is that a lot of those time wasting activities become habits and things you do without thinking. Habits can be difficult to change , but it is possible to replace them with new behaviors.

It is important that you attach value to your time and how you use your time has an enormous impact on your ability to succeed. Increasing your productivity and using your time wisely means you will have more time for the things that matters the most, like exercising, spending time with your family and friends, having a hobby or pursuing other purposes. Time wasting habits are surely bad habits that don't help you to grow and by eliminating them you will be able to increase your productivity. Social Media Without a Purpose

A big time waster. It is a huge distraction when you use this for personal use and it suck almost all of your time of the day. You do not have any good purposes (It may seem to be good to you) but spend your time scrolling down every minute and see what other people are posting on their wall. Social media is a platform where you can doom yourself for nothing and also rise yourself with a good reason.

It is a tool and you need to know how to use it effectively and get some benefit from it. First you need to know how social media can best benefit your business and stay focused while you are using it.


Multitasking

Multitasking is never a good habit and never was. You may think it is a good one to get job done at the same time but it is always found less productive and time wasting. The human brain isn't really designed to multitask and your brain needs to slowdown when you switch tasks from one to another because it needs time to absorb a solid sense of task. If you find yourself toggling between tasks and can't settle on one thing, understand you are hurting your performance and wasting your time.

Focus on one thing at a time before moving on to the next one. It will increase your productivity and help you to get your job done quickly. Focusing on one thing will make you more effective and you will have better results with fewer errors.



Too Much Socializing

It is important to socialize and keep social relations alive and there is nothing wrong with it. But when it goes in extreme level it becomes harmful and you cannot focus on your important tasks. Of course there is nothing wrong with socializing with your colleagues, co-workers when you are at work and nobody wants to spend the entire day in silence. But when it goes beyond tolerance and you start losing concentration, constantly distracts your focus it is better to keep you apart from it without insulting them.

Don't be afraid to tell others that you are busy and you need to stay focused right now. You can always see if they want to grab a lunch or supper, and hang outs after work or on a weekend eve without harming your productivity but try to protect your work.


Never Saying No

It is hard to say "No" in some cases and also it is harmful when you say "Yes" all the time. Without knowing the specific purpose when you say yes you will end up doing things that you don't want to do. You are afraid of what others will think about you if you say no or you do not want to lose friends by denying them. But it is very important to set a boundary by saying no and keep your work productive and stay away of mental distractions. Learn to say no when it is necessary and safe your time from wasting.



Doing Other Peoples Work

Helping others is always a good approach and you may feel better when you help others. But if you find yourself always helping others and losing time for yourself and have no time for personal projects, there is no meaning of helping others. Before helping others make sure that you do your own tasks first and they are all set. It will save your time, energy and sanity.


Watching Bad Movies

Good movies are always helpful to think about lives and entertain minds. But watching bad movies is just a waste of time and money. It also distracts your creative minds and brings some negative thoughts. Avoid watching bad movies with low attractive contents, extremely emotional, and social distractive.

And avoid depressive movies to watch. They will bring tons of depressions in your life and make you vulnerable to take decisions. For most people, watching movies should entertain you, and what's the point if you'll get depressed after watching the movie?



Waiting For Something to Happen

Waiting is always time wasting and nobody likes to wait. And if you are waiting for something good to happen in your life you are basically wasting your time. What are you waiting for? Nothing good happens with waiting and go out and make something happen in your life.


Hanging Out With Toxic People

Hanging out with some toxic people is kind of torturing yourself. Do not torture yourself by spending time with negative people who meant to be toxic all the time. It will just drain you and their attitude might rub you. Instead, surround yourself with people who make you feel good and happy. Toxic people never talk positive and they find problems in every solutions. They love to gossip about people doing good in their life and put them down with curse.
